The second one was made for Earth Day but was to long to show at the assembly on Friday.
What are your thought on this video. It will be added to the online book this weekend. Great work. Mr. H The second one was made for Earth Day but was to long to show at the assembly on Friday.

See book page: 572-573 for more details. What is your general reaction to this clip?
We have been watching History Teachers Channel on Youtube the last few weeks. It inspired two students to make their own history music video. Great job. Hope others follow these digital footprints.
Our little middle school has been in the news a little bit the last few week. My eighth period was filmed twice (NPR STORY and PBS TV show) Clips of these stories are below the image. Our online textbook was also mentioned in New York City at the TEDxNYED Conference, by Alan November. He is an international educational technology speaker. The following is an image from his presentation in New York City March 5, 2011.
As asked in class. What does this have to do with what we are learning? Who would she have been during the middle ages? What does this have to do with the Renaissance? How do you feel about what we talked The Lyrics for the song are found here.
The last few lines: I had a dream my life would be So different from this hell I'm living, So different now from what it seemed... Now life has killed the dream I dreamed... The Middle Age Webquest was a mastery project. Some students finished with a few days before spring-break. They were asked to work on an independent project for the reminder of the time in class. Not everyone finished, but that is fine as time was an issue. However I want to share a few with you.
The Mindcraft work is a video game. Students could create a Castle from nothing and then they used screen-capturing software to record a tour of the castle they made. Others used prezi, powerpoint, podcasting, voki's, blogs ect. I can put them all up but a few to show you. Some links first: Prezi put in online book (part way down page): http://dgh.wikispaces.com/Middle+Ages BLog copied and pasted and added to for the online book: http://dgh.wikispaces.com/Knights+Diary Over springbreak, several students traveled far away from Beachwood. I asked the to take pictures, film, whatever they could do to show what they can "See" in the world around them that we have learned about this year. The following is two film clips from Hannah and Hannah. First we, skyped them in their RV while in SC driving down I-95 and then their short movie on the Enduring Impacts. Great Job.
I got an email today, it mentioned the TEDxNYED conference and how Alan November mentioned the online textbook in his presentation. It comes at about 12:35 or so. Give it a watch. Very Cool...students people are noticing your work. Thanks to all students at Beachwood and Chardon who used a google doc to pick five words for each topic to build wordles. Grant, choose to do this for his independent project. We will use these wordles after SpringBreak. Fell free to click them and make it big and then take a screenshot and put it in your blog.
This is Grant typing: Wordle is an online program that allows you to type words into the system, and it will automatically come up with an image showing the words used the most often in that document in the largest sized font, then the next largest, than the next, etc. I chose to create Wordles for my Independent Project to see how members of my class would describe various topics of the Middle Ages. Wordle is a great program to use in order to see this. |
