Over springbreak, several students traveled far away from Beachwood. I asked the to take pictures, film, whatever they could do to show what they can "See" in the world around them that we have learned about this year. The following is two film clips from Hannah and Hannah. First we, skyped them in their RV while in SC driving down I-95 and then their short movie on the Enduring Impacts. Great Job.

Over the last few weeks, before break, we learned about the enduring impacts of the ancient world. I asked you as we started to see the world in new eyes. Take a look at the images below and tell me how you are starting to see the ancient world all around us and keep training your eyes to see the ancient world hidden in plain site.
Students have been using inspiration webs to learn about the enduring impacts of the Ancient world: woodblock printing, romance languages, sundial, cement, roads, "zero", Inoculations and more. The images below give you a view of the work in progress. These webs are differentiated by nature. During class some students watched video, some read the Textbook, some read the students created online textbook and some used the web. Everyone was able to find something.
As a class we have identified 25 must remembers: Students will begin to explain how these are seen in our world today, "seeing the world with new eyes". |
