Grant built a google doc for all 7th graders to answer two questions: The first image is student words that described the class. The second image is the words they most remember from the content. Thanks Grant and all students for helping to make this. The final project is creative in nature. You are asked to Leave a Legacy for others to view and learn from. I understand some of you need more structure. Below you will find several pages of directions and rubrics to use, if needed. Some of you have a ability to move forwards on your own and show the world what you have learned. Remember, the goal is to summarize the year in History with Holman (movies below is from five years ago...great digital footprints). Below you will find rubrics for the following: Imovie, podcasting, PowerPoint and or Prezi, Editorial Cartoons, Concept images (drawings), Comic Life projects. You will also find a script outline and research document. Keep in mind you can do other projects with Mr. H's permission and that is encouraged. Need some help on the online book. What will be your Legacy? Are your digital footprints worth following? ![]()

Today you spent some time in class looking over your History with Holman. I heard kids say: We did a lot, Holy Cow, This is crazy, I remember doing this, The first day with my laptop, I ...ect... I think you were surprised at how much we covered in our 181 days and 120 hours (remember less time then one sport). I hope you learned things, not covered them. We will see. What did you think as you saw your History with Holman, let me know by adding a comment. Mr. H
Just posting for next year. Found by a students: Spencer and is very good.
![]() In this final computer side chat Mr. Holman and Mr. Pennington chat about the Scientific Revolution, Age of Exploration and the impact on natives of this exploration. It is long: 20 minutes, but worth your time. As you listen, take notes on your own. These will be checked in class for homework. You should write at least eight key ideas addressed in the chat and ASK two questions you want to find answers about. This is a 20 minute chat. If you do not hear 20 minutes (some are say it cuts off after 8 minutes or so), then download the file and play it in ITunes. ![]()
Chris, made a great little video about what we have been doing the last few weeks. ![]() Look who tweeted about our online wikibook. Yes Ashton Kutcher twitted it out. That was cool to see. Today, we skyped to LA and did an interview with Alan November. It was hosted by Intel and Ashton Kutchers Production company: Katalyst Films. It should be posted onto Youtube in the next 48 hours. The live stream was watched by lots of people and tons of twitter messages about the event. People were really excited about the online book. Mr. P and I were very proud of the work students over the years have put into the book and are excited for you all to get building. I will post the interview on this blog when it is live again. Also want to thank the parents and students who were involved in the interview. You were awesome. |
