This weekend marks the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.  This event directly effected the lives of people in New York City, Shanksville and Washington D.C.  Indirectly, it effected every American citizen.  Our country is a different place since 9/11/01.
Please visit Story Corps and listen to the living histories of people directly effected by 9/11/01.  Story Corps collects peoples' memories and helps history sustain the fading effect of time.  Share these stories with family and friends.  Talk to your children about the effects of world events not on government and economies, but on everyday people.  Find uncles, aunts, grandparents who may have lived through momentous (happy and sad) events of the recent past and encourage them to talk about their experiences.  The most important history lessons a student can learn is that which comes from loved ones.

Thanks, Mr. P. I forgot about this site. We looked at the Cleveland PD about stories from people who had been there. Mr. Halagan is in NCY right now, his daughter is taking part in the 10 year ceremony
